So this morning I got up earlier than usual and prepped as if I was going to go to work at the Hollywood office. I had a 9:30 appointment to get vaccinated for Covid and I must say I was excited to go. I didn't really understand all the hubbub about it being safe or not. I had been taking the flu shot for years and I'll be honest that this is the one time I will compare covid to the flu. I figured it would be just as safe as the flu shot. Besides I've been pretty vocal about dis-ease in general anyway. And so I wolfed down a bacon tomato and cream cheese bagel sandwich and my Earl Grey tea and headed to Hollywood. A year ago it would have taken me upwards of 35 minutes to get there if not longer. Today, there was hardly any traffic and I got downtown in less than 20 minutes. And I was at our Hollywood clinic well before my appointment. When I got there, Eloisa and Barbara were in the waiting area. They had gotten their vaccine minutes before and now they were in the "observation phase". That's when you're supposed to wait 15 minutes to see if there are any complications. Complications? What complications? LOL. Anyway I did the exact same thing, got my shot and then hung around for 15 minutes. Am i feeling a burning sensation? Am I getting dizzy? Nope and nope. And so off I went without incident and I was home by 10 AM. I was supposed to go Lisa's for lunch at her invite so I could pick up Johnnie. And when I got there Johnnie was on the phone with Brooklyn. Awww... my little boy has a girlfriend already! At 6 years old! They had apparently been talking for at least a couple of hours. Lisa had arroz caldo turkey that her mom made and I did bring over roasted chicken breasts from Ralphs. And the bang-bang-bang afternoon continued on.
Johnnie and I were at Lisa's office for my 1:30 PM cleaning. Another uneventful event to a busier than usual Friday. I got my cleaning by Sandy and Johnnie drew his pictures at the front desk with Claudia and Nikki. And we were out of there in an hour and home before 3 PM, with a pit stop at Marukai to get some Japanese food for me for the weekend. I had the 2 PM FRB Birthday party too but I couldn't make it given my dental appointment. And I realize I had a couple of tasks that had deadlines today as well. But they are just going to have to wait until the weekend or Monday. Because by 3 PM I had pretty much mentally shut down. By then my arm was already starting to get sore, which apparently was the most common side effect of the vaccine. I wanted to take a nap too but since I had Johnnie I couldn't really. I realized I have him tomorrow too since it is a usual Saturday workday at Lisa's office. It's ok we ended up watching Jurassic World and I let him play with his toy dinosaurs and by 5 PM, he got another day of Panda Express LOL. Lisa eventually picked him up at 6:30 and did her usual download, which tonight consisted of talking about a lab tech that disrespected her and didn't treat her like the dentist. She talks about these things but I would have been a lot more upset. Which is why I used to stand up for her because she tells me about it but doesn't fix it at the source. Today I can't do that anymore and I realize that she is running a program that was merely getting some kind of validation for her feelings. Sigh. Anyway Johnnie went off with her for the evening and I went back to my Netflix night. Actually I fell asleep on the couch. I must have been pretty tired today. It was a busy day.
