A Warm Monday

First thing I noticed when I got up this morning was that the sun was out. Which meant it was going to be a warm day today. Unusually warm. I was fixated on getting my steps in almost immediately as I woke up and I even walked to McDonald's to pick up a breakfast special. That would be TWO sausage egg McMuffins. Hey I'm tired of cooking ok? Besides simply doing that already got me a half mile in first thing, even before I had my breakfast and started with my shower. And so by the time the 10:30 Business Continuity Meeting rolled around, I was already past 3000 steps, already had 2 sets of Nitric Oxide dump exercises under my belt AND got a round of Image Cycling in. I felt good about starting this Monday and starting this work week. After last week, a quiet week would be just what the doctor ordered but then again who knows. Tellingly, the Monday Business Continuity Meeting was pretty light this morning and there were missing a couple of the C's... and a couple of Directors. This made for a pretty light meeting. As soon as it got done, I made my way outside again, determined to enjoy an unusually warm and beautiful January day. It was in the 70s and you can see from the pic I posted that I had no need for layers or a jacket or anything. In fact, after a few hundred steps my body warmed up too and I would have sweated had I put a little more energy into my walk. But I didn't have to as it turned out. And to make a long story short, by 4 PM I had already gotten to 12,000 miles. Yep, 12,000 miles! 13,000 is already a cinch and 14,000 steps a definite possibility. But at least I don't have to do the bulk of my exercise anymore now that I've gotten it out of the way. For some reason though - and maybe it was the extra exercise who knows - my stomach was not feeling very settled. I didn't think it was the lunch... because I just made some Japanese noodles with vegetables and that shaved beef from Marukai. That wouldn't make me sick would it? Or maybe it was something my body was trying to expel. I did vagus nerve resetting exercises and also all those frequency beats I listened to for almost an hour probably did something to make my body eject crap literally. Anyway the day went by pretty uneventfully and the next activity was to pick Johnnie up from Lisa's. I didn't hear anything from them today which meant that they themselves were pretty busy. There was no school today for Lisa... I get the privilege of starting Johnnie with the Winter/Spring semester tomorrow when classes start again. But before all that I walked in to Lisa's house and see Johnnie's typical dinosaur and dinosaur enclosure structures all over the dining room while Lisa was folding clothes. Sigh. This would mean it would not be quick pick-up as Johnnie would STILL have to clean all this stuff up. Of course Lisa could have prepared by making him put them away BEFORE i got there but hey I'm not going to make any waves about it. I just quietly got down on my knees and helped Johnnie clean everything up and put everything away. Apparently Lisa was tired because not only did they go for a hike in Sierra Madre today, they also biked to Marina del Rey for something. And Johnnie had a combination lunch/dinner around 4:30. Yes I could shake my head at some of these things that Lisa does but what good does it do really? So she does things way different than I do. As long as Johnnie is ok, then I'm ok. Besides, I have him now and at least he had already had his dinner. It was ME that I have to get food for now. We made a stop at Ralphs and I picked up a piece of tenderloin for $5 rather than stop for a burger. I put that thing on the grill and voila: a nice mini-steak that I paired up with lentil soup over rice. Kind of like that kabob dish I love so much from Crimson except that it's beef. Perfect! And Johnnie ended up watching TWO Winnie-the-Pooh movies while I was grilling and while I had MY dinner. It was a win-win. But I needed to get to bed early tonight. I did finish with 14000+ steps and I didn't really get a good night's sleep last night so I'm catching up tonight.  Monday's done and all is well.
