Johnnie Saturday

Today Lisa is working and obviously I get to hang out with Johnnie for most of the day. I was at her house at 7:45 still a bit tired and sleepy from the binge watching of last night. Johnnie was still asleep, apparently having stayed up late last night too. That's ok, he is allowed to. After all, it's only the next day after the last day of school. Strange part though was that when he woke up and we got ready to go off for the day he nixed breakfast at Elysee. He gave me this morning's itenerary in fact. "We're going to get our car washed first", he says. Then we're getting breakfast at McDonald's to eat at home. Obviously the kid wants to watch his videos at dad's house. I figured I'd let him do just that. Lucky for him I had plenty of food for my breakfast. Kind of felt like a regular weekday this morning. Johnnie ate his McDonald's deluxe breakfast, I ate scrambled eggs and bacon.  After he watched some videos, I got him to go with me on the Saturday morning Target run. I thought I'd buy him some summer clothes. Tank tops and shorts. Look at the pic I posted of him at Target. And then when we went home, he declared that he was hungry. But that he wanted to go to Panda Express via scooter. It was hot out there but hey if the kid wants to exercise, who am I not to let him? And so here it was the middle of the day and it had gotten hot already and Johnnie is scootering. He slowed down considerably after just a few blocks but he was a gamer. I told him to just go slow and that he had water waiting for him at Panda Express.  And so we got there got our food and stayed and ate lunch right there on Sawtelle. The scooter ride home was much easier for him because it is a bit downhill on the tail end.  We got home before 1 PM even. Enough time to slip  in a little nap for me. But I never took one. That's because it took all of one Wild Kratts video before Johnnie decided he wanted to play baseball. And so I took him to the barbecue area and we played baseball. This time I started throwing him pitches overhand instead of underhand. And you wanna know something? He could hit the ball anyway. His hand-eye coordination is just fine. I often wonder if he's way too skinny or if that is normal. I see his brothers are both pretty thick like their biological father. Not Johnnie. But then again I think he's just fine and I'm going to leave it at that. By 3:30 Lisa was on her way to pick him up. Good thing since we were next going to try playing with the new soccer ball I got him at Target. Yep, we had a heckuva day Johnnie and I felt good that we had lots of quality time today. Before I picked him up this morning I threw out some joyful energy about Johnnie and I having a great day today and wouldn't you know I think I got that experience. And I still had the late afternoon and tonight left for ME time. And what exactly did I do with that ME time? I finally decided I needed to get around to cleaning my apartment once and for all. If I didn't do it today, I was going to miss doing it for yet another week. I didn't feel like doing it to be sure. But I just had to get started. And I started with... Johnnie's basket of coloring pens and crayons. Hey, it had lots of stuff that needed to be put away. Stuff from the just ended school year. By 4 PM I had actually finished cleaning the living room and already I felt 100% better about the place. And then I went on to the kitchen. I hesitated at first because after all, I still had to do dinner tonight. Eh, this only means that I will have to eat out tonight is all. I felt good about cleaning up the kitchen floor once and for all. It had all kinds of dirt smudges from the last 2 weeks and finally made those go.  You only needed to walk from the kitchen to the bathroom to notice the difference. But I no longer felt like cleaning the bathroom. I was tired.  That's what happens when you don't clean regularly, there's a lot more to clean up when you do get around to it. Oh well,  I will make sure to do finish tomorrow. I hope. I hope I have enough energy after golf... For dinner, I ended up getting some Chipotle. That's because I didn't get done cleaning up until it was already 7 PM and by then I just felt like getting something somewhere close. Chipotle happened to be the closest. And so I had a chicken bowl while watching the latest offering from the Marvel Universe. That would be the new series LOKI. I hope it's at least as good as the Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Not to worry. There isn't going to be any movie watch binging tonight. I am NOT going to repeat last week's weak golf game because I didn't get enough sleep tonight. Besides I have to be at Altadena for an 8:40 tee time. I'm all good.
