Wednesday Lazily

I wasn't feeling motivated all day today. It started this morning when I had to push myself to get to routine and get Johnnie to school. Maybe it was because I had fallen asleep on the couch and this after getting up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. I had slept early and felt like I had gotten a deep sleep. Until this morning when it was Johnnie who came out and said he was awake and ready to go. Only to crawl back with me on the couch. Nothing like holding my son close while half-asleep to start the day. Of course I did get back on routine, dropped him off to school. But even as I did my steps this morning, and then went back home there was no sense of urgency at all. With anything. I had a nice, leisurely breakfast and then went on about my day. Even with my team meeting, it was Data Analytics today and James called in sick. Seems to be going around. A couple of the IS Team called out earlier in the week too. As did one person from EHR Support. Was I worried? Nah. Not at any point in time. With James not around, the Data Team meeting took all of 15 minutes. And even with Shilpa going out on vacation the next couple of days, I managed to find a report in the system that was an open help desk ticket. See? Easy to contribute. Easy to keep the ball moving. I should be working on my presentation for Vegas next week. But nope, that wasn't even on my mind. That will be for the weekend. I even took Claire for a longer-than-usual walk around the neighborhood this morning. I'm sure she liked that. And then I took a late shower and even cleaned the shower tub. Haven't done that in a couple of weeks and it started to feel dirty. That would be the 2nd day in a row I have gotten an industrious streak and did something to clean the house. Parts of it anyway. I didn't feel like going out to get something for lunch either. I just ate leftovers. The leftover soup/stew hybrid from the other day. That over rice was perfect. And anyway I couldn't go out because I had a meeting at 1 PM. One of those Compliance Meetings with Emma. And that one lasted all of 40 minutes. Starting to feel like one of my Tech Council Meetings where I go over the same content for a bit now. Anyway I almost bugged off for a nap before I kicked myself into gear finally to pick up Johnnie. It was like I did bare minimum all day and still felt like I did something but I also still felt lazy. Does that make sense? I threw in an order at Dominos' before I went to STAR. There is going to be no Panda Express tonight. It's pizza night. And so I picked up Johnnie, glad today that he didn't have any war wounds. And then we picked up our dinner (pizza for Johnnie, pasta for me) and I must say Johnnie ate more than half of the medium pizza. The difference this evening was that I had gotten pretty much 11,000 steps by the time I picked up Johnnie. Not sure how I managed that really, other than I did get an early start yet again. In fact by the end of the evening I had already gotten to 280 active minutes just from the last 3 days. I could ease on the throttle the rest of the week then. And since I was already in a lazy mood, I didn't park myself in front of the computer this evening. Instead I hung around where Johnnie was. Although he was otherwise occupied doing something with the pizza box. He was coloring it for something. And it took him a while to do too. And then by 7 PM, I gave Claire her bath.  I hadn't done that either in the last couple of weeks. But since I didn't feel as tired tonight, I figured I'd do it. And Johnnie even helped me do it. Look at the 'family" pic of the 3 of us. Just the boys and Claire on a lazy Wednesday night is how I'm captioning this one. The thing was Johnnie knocked off early tonight. As in for the 2nd night in a row he fell asleep on the couch. I had already changed him to his pajamas by then so I just decided to leave him. He had talked about sleeping out there anyway. With the dog all clean, I moved her sleep beanbag out next to the couch so she could sleep next to Johnnie if she wanted. I put a blanket over him and decided I still had one more thing to do before going to bed myself. The fan on the Acer laptop had gotten really REALLY loud. As in it needed to be replaced and replaced NOW. No way I could go to sleep with that thing whirring the way it did. And so I opened the back and tried to stop the noise. And what I finally did was to tape it so it wouldn't move. Some say that would cause the CPU to overheat. I don't think so. It didn't even feel hot to the touch. And so I did that last computer thing I had to do and THEN i went to bed. Lazy Wednesday it turned out to be. I'm good with that.
