I don't think anyone was expecting this... certainly I wasn't. By 4:30 PM there was thunder and lightning and it started to rain fairly heavily. A thunderstorm in early October. That by itself isn't all that rare. But it certainly caught me by surprise. Fortunately by the time all that went down I already had 12,000+ steps and over 100 active minutes under my belt. The rest I could finish tonight indoors. I had actually had a pretty quiet day. I didn't even know what to focus on first thing this morning. And then I got reminded by emails and chats. And then there was that hour-and-a-half meeting about the new space on Vermont. I attended that meeting but really I was working on other stuff. I had to get the UDS report for the 3rd quarter done too don't I. When I got up from the meeting it felt like my back was out. Must be a combination of sitting for that long and also pushing myself to walk 5 miles already by mid afternoon. I thought I would walk some more to work out the kinks in my back actually. And o one minute I was walking outside and the sun was actually out. And then when I got back in, it got dark like in a hurry. And then all you heard was the boom-boom-boom of thunderclaps and flashes of lightning in the far distance, which wasn't actually all that far. And then you heard the slosh of rain. Felt like some bad shit happening like in the Bible LOL. Anyway it was our first thunderstorms/rains of the season. Yesterday it was hotter than heck, today thunderstorms. Strange weather. I worried about Johnnie being in the rain but as it turned out Lisa had picked him up at 5 PM. And now they're picking up some gift knick knacks because Johnnie has it in his mind that he's going to give away treats to his class for his birthday. Awww. I love my kid! I grabbed dinner at El Pollo Loco and then picked up Johnnie. It was past 7:30 PM by this time and that was ok. Despite the change in routine, I didn't mind. It seemed like Lisa had given Johnnie dinner too. I saw he finally got his haircut this past weekend. And he had presents from Tony and his brothers. It's all you could ask for is that he remembers he had a special day during his birthday. No need for any elaborate parties. Besides, I have a chemical set coming that I'm sure he's going to enjoy. And a surprise to Jurassic World coming in the next couple of weeks. Yes. He will remember 7 years old. Going back to this morning's exercise, it is MY way of breaking the wheel and releasing karma. It will be just fine.
