D-day to fly to Vegas. Flight is at 11:40. Arriving around 1 PM. I thought I had lots and lots of time actually, which explains why I was lollygagging so much this morning. I mean was ready to leave by 8 AM. But I couldn't decide whether to take Uber or to call Lisa at the last second to give me a ride to LAX. In the end I decided on neither. I took my car. Heck, if I'm just going to leave it for 1 night, then maybe I can get QueensCare to foot the parking bill. $40 for overnight is it? Still, I was almost regretting driving there when I rounded the entire airport twice and found all the parking lots to be full. Great. I finally found some open spots in the United terminal in Parking Lot 7. I was supposed to leave from Terminal 4. Guess I get to at least do my steps this morning like I always do Mondays. The flight was pretty uneventful, except for the landing which was real REAL turbulent and rough <what the hell was that pilot doing??>. Fortunately, it was less than an hour flight. And a cab ride and $32 later I was at Caesar's Palace. Since I arrived at 1 PM, I had to stop for lunch first thing, I was so hungry. Sammy's Wood-fired Pizza it is LOL. Hawaiian pizza Sammy's version was a huge pineapple and a large piece of Canadian bacon. It hit the spot just fine. And when I got inside the hotel, a long-forgotten smell of cigarette smoke and casino noise hit me immediately. I did the early check-in thing on the Caesar's app. But when I got to the lobby, there was a whole slew of people there! Like Hundreds of people! WTF?? It took about 45 minutes to check in anyway. THAT was the express check-in. But I finally got my room and just crashed on the bed, wondering how I was going to get rid of the smoke stink when I went out to dinner later... It turned out to be a quiet night actually. I ran into Eloisa outside the lobby while she was headed out to dinner. It had to be quiet for me. I had to spend time rehearsing my talk tomorrow in my head, in addition to walking it through with Michael my co-presenter. I did have some pretty good noodles in the Asian Noodle House inside the hotel. That after taking some more steps outside. Got to 15,000+ tonight very easily. Even did 133 active minutes. Just like a usual Monday. So I posted pictures to tell the rest of the story for today. Gotta get ready for tomorrow...
