I woke up this morning thinking I only had one thing to accomplish all day. And that was to lock up our presentation for the FOM/IT conference by the National Community Health Centers Association coming up in less than 2 weeks. My co-presenter Michael and I had locked in the framework of our presentation last week, but then we actually still had to talk about the details. So this morning I started the day with my usual Friday morning look at YouTube. Markets are reversing from a recent short-term downturn it seems like, I'm thinking today I should actually also get on with my paper trading and at least GET MY FEET WET. I was hoping seeing all these videos intended for those trying to get rich to get clicks would at least motivate me in that direction. But instead I focused on simply chilling and making myself a nice leisurely omelette for breakfast. Hey, if I had all the money in the world that would still be what I would be doing right? And besides, my morning meeting with my co-presenter Michael was coming up at 10 AM and I expected to be occupied for the rest of the morning. And so it was that we got our conference call going. He had said he was adding slides to my presentation, but all in all, he didn't really add much. WE just agreed I'd talk through slide 37 and he would take over from there. And I would go to him with regards to cybersecurity insurance stuff. And so really it was simply my presentation and he just added a lot of hands-on stuff he wanted to do LIVE. I'm ok with that. The problem I had was that he wasn't going to come LIVE after all. He hadn't finished his vaccination 2nd dose yet. Damn. YOu'd think everyone had gotten vaccinated already but he being in Florida and all, this is why I'm thinking we had outbreaks and stuff all over the country. Fucking Republican Trumpers creating such misinformative narratives out there. Anyway we got done with our detail wlak through by 11 AM. And with that I declared the work week over and done. NOW can I tank the rest of the day?
As it turned out I tried to take a nap in the afternoon and I was actually able to close my eyes and knock off for 15 minutes or so even if my Fitbit said was just lightly sleeping and gave me almost no sleep minutes. Actually what I did end up doing starting in the middle of the afternoon was watch the Squid Game. I thought it was a movie at first. A Korean Un one at that. But it did rank #1 on Netflix's watch list so I was curious at the very least. Especially after Karl referenced it when were texting last week. And reading a review that practically called it a breakthrough film series in the mold of Parasite from a couple of years ago. And so when I started watching it, and it started with a kid's game called Squid Game it seemed harmless enough. Until it started to get violent. As in people that were playing this game were killed if they did not win the game. And these games were all kids games. Marbles. Tug-of-War. Red Light Green Light. Suddenly I felt like I was watching an Asian version of the Hunger Games. Only even more violent I thought. Anyway I ended up getting drawn in and binge watching the thing. All the way though Friday night, only taking a break going to Taco Bell to get some Nachos Bell Grande for dinner. I hadn't eaten out all day. In fact, I hadn't left the house period all day long. Wny not eat some junk food LOL. And end up sleeping at 1 AM in the morning. Can't explain that other than it WAS supposed to be TANK Friday today. I'm looking forward to the rest of the weekend.
