Odd Monday

It was already going to be a different Monday to start simply because Johnnie spent the night last night, and I have to take him to school first thing. So it felt more like a Tuesday really. See the pic I posted of me walking Johnnie to the line. That simply doesn't happen on Mondays. And I'm actually glad that I get to spend an extra evening with him. And if anything it meant I got to bed early and I actually had plenty of sleep last night. And still the only different thing I did was that I was up earlier and I got to my walking exercises earlier too. I got to 5000 steps before it was even 8:45!  During that walk I actually outlined all the things I needed to accomplish this week. All the "wins" I wanted to experience. And it started with getting my reports done today. Not just the COVID vaccine reports, I had the management Q1 report due as well. And I had all these emails I hadn't touched in almost a week, meaning I now had over 600 emails I needed to go through as of today. More by tomorrow if I didn't get to them today. For the rest of the week, there really wasn't anything out of the ordinary, except of course at some point I really do need to start focusing on the NACHC talk next week. I was able to fix the faux pas I did with my flight (booking it a full week early) at a cost of $27. I was just glad it wasn't more than that.  That was definitely a win. Anyway I put my head down and took turns working on my reports, taking walks outside, and enjoying a windy/blustery day. Lunch was a tuna melt sandwich from Marie Callenders and walking there provided a nice break at mid-day. By mid-afternoon I had finished with my HRSA reports actually but before I patted myself on the back, the thought of having to go through 600 emails actually dampened my sense of accomplishment. It was about this time that I got a call from Lisa. Her parents were coming over to check on her. And so she wanted to take the opportunity to get them to help her pick up Johnnie from school. Which means they are going to stay for dinner. Which means I won't be picking Johnnie up at 6 PM. Hey, that's ok actually. I could focus on work still. I just chuckled that somehow no 2 consecutive weeks of pick-up and drop-off with Johnnie are ever the same. Isn't that funny?!
I started toing through all those damn emails. A lot of them were invoices I needed to approve to get paid too. And by the time I got through all of them it was almost 7 PM! And I felt tired too. Tired of sitting too much. Tired of reading emails. Tired. I couldn't decide on what to do about dinner though. Usually I'd just pick up some El Pollol Loco but I already did that last night. I decided I'd get something I can warm up from WHole Foods since I have to go get milk for the week anyway. By then it had gotten more than a little windy and blustery outside. The winds had picked up strongly and was blowing everything all over the place. <I would find out later that those same winds kept 2 homeruns from going over the fence for the Dodgers and they ended up losing to the Giants tonight>  I brought home some Indian food for dinner tonight. Some fish korma, some lamb vindaloo, and some channa masala. Haven't had Indian food for a really long time. Used to be a staple with Balwan and Sharon. But it's been a while since I even thought of them too. It was almost 8 PM when I finally got a call from Lisa that Johnnie is ready to be picked up. I didn't mind actually but I'm sure Johnnie would have preferred to keep to the routine. It turned out Lisa had misplaced her phone and couldn't call me earlier. WHy not. Just Lisa being Lisa. I helped her find it when I got there. It was in one of the garbage bins. Shocking I know LOL. And finally Johnnie and Claire are back under my watch. He didn't really have much time to watch his Wild Kratts. It was already milk time by the time we went through the door. And bedtime not much later than that. He did get to play with his new circuit kit, which he had had previously but gave it away... I'm sure another one of Lisa's moves to keep her house from getting overrun by Johnnie toys. Instead I get to keep this in MY house LOL. Anyway the kit came from Karl and I was glad he made the effort actually. And I let Johnnie play with it for a while before going to bed. Even taped a thank you message for Karl. So the day turned out to be full of wins and I felt like I accomplished plenty. Didn't I say I was tired from working? Shocking I know. Off to bed early for the 2nd day in a row.
