I woke up this morning sore somehow. My lower back seems to be out, my legs feel like they ran a 5K and my neck and shoulders are tight. This couldn't possibly be from walking 15,000+ steps yesterday could it? I mean I've been doing that every Monday all year for almost 10 months now. Oh and I've got a cold sore on my lip too. If this weren't the time of COVID, I'd be thinking I may be coming down with something. Or maybe... maybe... could this be a physical reaction to the emotional/mental intervention from yesterday morning? Hmm. Or it may be simply I'm not exercising those minor muscles enough. And so when I sit for an extended period of time like I did yesterday, that's what happens. It's not the back, it's the hip abductors. Just gotta exercise more and differently is all. Anyway it was much nicer getting up to a beautiful sunrise that ending the day with last night's thunderstorm. See the pic? Contrast left to right. Literally night and day. It almost slipped my mind since I was so distracted last night that really the big real this week is that it is Johnnie's BIRTHDAY week! And I'll be damned if I let Lisa do all the celebrating with him. I asked his teacher Ms Hwang if it was ok to distribute those goody bags Lisa bought. Got the ok for that. Then I invited Brooklyn and Bailey to pizza tomorrow night at Pitfire Pizza. I'm going to celebrate it with him by hook or by crook. And then I got all the material ready for tomorrow's Town Hall. Seems like tomorrow is the week's big day huh? Anyway it was so nice this morning that I walked almost all the way back to Mar Vista Elementary and got in 3700 steps before breakfast. And my hip flexors loosened up in the process. That and some feldenkrais exercises and I was ok again. Gotta stop spending so much time sitting down...
So finally I started to work on the TownHall stuff for tomorrow morning. It doesn't really even dawn on me that we're presenting to about 250 people. I still have to pick the music, set up the queuing of the media, make sure the transitions are ok. I got stuff with those transitions the last time around. I will do better tomorrow. Anyway it does take a little bit of work to get this thing done. And I'm still wondering how I ended up being the host presenter to this webinar. This and for some reason I found myself getting distracted into getting my RealID application done with the DMV. Man this thing is NOT intuitive at all. But I did get the application done, submitted, and I even got in an appointment Thursday morning. I might as well get it taken care of. Anyway it warmed up today again and so really yesterday weird thunderstorm was THE anomaly. I was easily at 7500 steps by the middle of the afternoon. And I was on track to get 90 active minutes in as well. I noticed that I got some pretty good sleep last night for the first time in weeks. And that my RHR had gone back down to 70, also for the first time in weeks too. Now if only my lower back and neck and shoulders would also get untensed... I picked up Johnnie and I saw him playing outside with a bunch of kids. There was dirt on his shirt and hands. Which means he had been having fun all afternoon. All you could ask for right? We went to Panda Express immediately and he asked if we could eat there too. That was a surprise. It seemed like he wanted to get dinner done without having to clean up after at the apartment. That works for me too. I was planning on getting a plate for myself anyway. So look at the pic I posted of him attacking his teriyaki chicken. The kid loves his chicken. It was back to the Wild Kratts for a few hours when we got home. I had to work on the Town Hall stuff some more. It had turned into a busy day for me. But all will be done by md-morning tomorrow. We're good to go.
