Week is Almost Done

So I was thinking to myself after yesterday that I got out of this week pretty much unscathed. And despite potential drama at the end of last week, this week ended up working out after all and that's because I was able to solve the problem of picking up Johnnie in the afternoon and getting Lisa to go along with the Beyond the Bell solution. Today I have to be back at our East Third Street health center for the second day in a row for a mandatory Sexual Harassment Training class, and why this can't be done remotely I don't even know why. That can't be a legal thing could it? What the heck difference would it make? Still I'm trying to be a good soldier and now that I have no more issues with leaving the house I'm good. Almost. No. More. Issues. There was still Claire the puppy and her poop issues. Last night she pee'd in the kitchen floor again right after I had just cleaned up after Johnnie's meal and I got angry. I took her by the snout and rubbed her nose in it. Pretty hard. It must have terrified her poor thing.  And so when I plopped her down on her pillow before going to bed. She hardly moved from that spot. This morning I gave her not one, but THREE puppy pads to pee and poop on. And actually, since I had much more time today than yesterday, as soon as I got home from dropping Johnnie off (who by the way got started running around as soon as we got in line - see pic), I took her out for a nice little walk outside. Got her peeing with no rush at all. And when we got back in I noticed she seemed very much content with just laying down on her pillow. And so my nonchalant exit was just that. Nonchalant. I left by 9:30 and got to E3 well before my 10 AM class. The class took 2 hours to do and at the end of it all, I still don't know why it couldn't be done remotely. Was it some kind of test to see if I'd actually show up? The HR people doing the class did ok but really all they did was read from the powerpoint slides. Again I had to wonder why the 4 of us that attended the class had to do it in person?! Anyway, we got done before noon and I actually toyed with the idea of going to Boston Market to pick up lunch. But I had visions of Claire still pooping all over the floor and I decided I better get home as soon as I can. As it was I opened the door and expected a disaster. There was NONE! To my HUGE surprise! She didn't poop, didn't pee, didn't do anything! Maybe the walk did it. That plus I kept ESPN Sportscenter on the whole time. Must have distracted her. I'll take that as a big win today. And so I heated up the last of my beef stew for lunch and NOW I can breathe out that the week is almost over...
And so I picked up Johnnie at 3 PM and just like the last few days, he had been playing and had this huge bruise over his knee! Must have fallen right on it. No wonder he tears up pants that are reinforced exactly on that spot on the knee! (look at the pic!!) He still had a bag of food in his backpack that he didn't eat and he still wanted a pizza today. So much so I picked up one at Whole Foods for him since I wanted to pick up some ground beef I wanted to make for ME for dinner tonight. He did eat up most of it too and I started to wonder how he was going to eat at 5 PM. It was already 3:30 PM by this time. I'll tell you how.. he must have worked up an appetite when he was at BYB after school. And now he is in wrestle mode with Claire. I promised I would try not to yell at him as much today since I sensed I did it to the point of overdoing it yesterday. I mean all he wants is to get my attention or Lisa's whoever is watching him. I'm sure he has different strategies for both of us. For me, he likes to punch me right in the gut. And i was just thinking to myself the last time he did it, how much longer before he can't do that anymore because he will hurt me. I realize he does it simply because he wants me around him. As in all the time. Look at the pic I took of the both of us. THAT is all he wants. He and I watching TV together. By that time, he had cleaned up around my apartment too. Not like last week, but good enough. And so when Lisa texted me that she was on her way I was ready. And it was almost 7:30 too. Could it be that we're going to have a run-of-the-mill more-usual-than-not hand-off tonight? By golly we might at that. And it turned out that we did! No muss no fuss, just a here's Johnnie and off they went. I went back in to watch The NeVERS on HBO and then an episode of Kung Fu from the CW. Similarities to the 70s version was nonexistent. This one was like any one of the karate action series stuff before it. Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, Van Helsing, blah blah. I was disappointed. I knocked off before midnight tonight. Only because I reminded myself I needed to get up early to book a golf tee time. It is all good.
