What Happened to Last Week's Golf Magic??

And so this morning I trek to Altadena hopeful about continuing last week's good play and string together 2 good Sundays in a row. I focused on what I did last week and how I was in a good state that entire weekend really all the way from Friday. And to me, simply being in that relaxed space was already a good start and I simply stayed loose the entire game. I did not let me rush me. That's the key. Easier said than done though. Like last week I did fine off the tee.  But my second shot which was less than 90 yards from the hole although at a strange angle because of a bunker, was a real stinker. Way left and almost got to the tee box on the next hole. Talk about a miss. That should have told me right then and there that I was off. And by a lot. Same with the 2nd tee. A nice shot off the tee but right into the trap. And then a fairway shot way way left. Again. Same on the 3rd hole. A nice tee shot. A whiff on the fairway shot. Clearly something was happening with my 2nd shot. Or not happening such as it were. It didn't help by the way that they were aerating the greens today. There was so much sand it made the green really REALLY slow. Not that it would have improved my 2nd shots any. The pattern continued on the next hole, which was the long Hole 4. Great 1st shot, awful 2nd. And again on the next hole 5. Even when my 2nd shot was decent, the hot after that was shit. Last week's 3 par game was now a faded distant memory.  I couldn't buy a par today. Not even on Hole 7 with a par putt and Hole 8 with a par putt. The sandy greens took care of that. And on Hole 9 I should have just stopped when I buried my 2nd shot into the sand trap again. Sigh. At least I had a few good shots today, but I could never string together more than 1 all day long. Oh well... at least I wasn't alone in having a poor outing. Greg shot a par on the first hole but never had another one. Scott was firmly in my camp not getting a sniff on a par either. Needless to say it was a dissatisfied ride home. And I just consoled myself with a salmon kabob lunch from Crimson. If I had a shitty golf game at least I could have a decent lunch right?
I should have taken a nap too. And by the time I closed my eyes and knocked off for a bit it was nearly 2 PM. I did get to see the new Disney movie Raya and the Last Dragon, sure to be this year's version of Frozen II and I'm sure Johnnie is going to watch this movie over and over again for the next few weeks. I'm ok with that. Gives him something to do right? The central theme of the movie is all about TRUST. Someone has to take the first step with trust. And it might as well be YOU, as long as you believe. Another theme was about uniting together. Individual powers combined together make one undefeatable whole that can move mountains. Something for me to remember for later on I'm sure.  I thought about cleaning the house but now I'm in a lazy mood. It was when I was taking out the garbage like I usually do when I ran into my next door neighbor Monica going into their apartment. We were 20 yards apart. Definitely socially distanced... and although I didn't have my mask, I did cover my face. I wonder why she felt the need to ask me to wear one right then? I apologized and went back in my apartment, feeling bad. But then again I'm usually pretty lazy when I'm just taking out my garbage. I mean we WERE pretty far apart. Then again she wasn't wrong either, I do get caught walking around the complex without a mask on quite often. I'm chalking this one incident up to simply a continuation of the negative energy that I must have kept all day. It would explain the terrible golf game. What I do need to learn is how to reset and reset quickly. I did not have to stay negative did I? I actually had work stuff to do tonight that I didn't do on Friday. I had to put a headshot and a bio together for my speaking engagement at the CCALAC Symposium in a month woo-hoo! And then I just started running some of the reports I need to run for tomorrow. AND I still had to finish laundry and make dinner. I got so lazy I did not want to go out anymore. Fortunately I did buy chicken piccata plate from Trader Joe's. A fine dinner that made too. That and an episode of the Walking Dead concluded my Sunday. It was a story about Daryl and how he met a woman in the middle of all the time he was searching for Rick. In the middle of nowhere. Kind of a strange aside as the series seems to be weaving individual stories now. Probably getting ready for spin-offs LOL. I got all my stuff done and then I was too tired to do anymore. Weekend over...
